We are not driven by ego. We take joy in the process of architecture and not just the finished project. One of the rewards of practicing architecture is that you are able to interact with a diverse group of people and learn what they do. Below you will find a brief description of our process and values.
Program: We are focused on understanding how your business operates, whether we are doing a formal program or not. Architecture either facilitates and improves your processes or it hinders them. We bring years of knowledge and experience to the project, but you are the expert on your specific operations.
Appropriateness: This is a critical concept and has several different applications. The first is contextual. How does the project fit onto the site? Is it sensitive to the surrounding neighborhood? Does it efficiently use resources? Is the client getting the most they can for the budget they have to spend?
Construction: We take pride in understanding how things are built. We work hard to understand the principals of good detailing and constructability. We communicate with the contractor and suppliers to make sure things are constructed appropriately.
Team: I would like to reiterate that we are not ego driven. A successful project starts with a client who is engaged and interested in their project. Architecture is a complex layering of systems. This means assembling a team of qualified professionals. The contractor and tradespeople are a critical part of the team. A successful project is the result of a dedicated team beginning with the client all the way through to the trades person executing the work.
